Day one of our tour begins with a smooth one and a half hour bus ride through the beautiful green rice fields, leading you to the rural and picturesque town of Mỹ Tho. Here, we will visit the oldest and most special architecture in the Mekong Delta, the Vinh Trang pagoda. Its architecture is influenced by Vietnamese, Khmer and European cultures, making it a true architectural gem.
Next, we will embark on a motorized boat on the Tien River and cruise through the fishing port, stilt houses, and boat-building workshops to the Qui (Tortoise islet). On the way, we will see the other Dragon, Phoenix, and Unicorn Islets. The cruise will take us through the Bao Dinh canal to enter Ben Tre province, known as “the country of coconut”. Here, we will see a typical agricultural model called “Garden – Pond – Cage” and enjoy the coconut candy mill and relaxing honey tea.
But the highlight of the day is yet to come. We will take an amazing rowing boat trip on the small canal, fully covered by the shadow of the water coconut tree, with cool breezes that you simply cannot miss. And what’s more, lunch will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden.
After lunch, we will walk along the village, visit fruit gardens, and listen to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by the islanders. Here, we can join in the daily activities of the local people and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside. Your expectations will be fulfilled by the final boat trip back to MyTho on the Tan Thach natural canal.
We will then take a short walk through the narrow village path to the bus and process to Can Tho city. Once we arrive in Can Tho, we will check into a 3-star hotel and have dinner on the boat.
Day two of our tour begins with breakfast, followed by a boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River. We will then take you to the Cai Rang floating market, the most original and bustling place in the region. Here, you will have the chance to see how Vietnamese vermicelli noodle is made and even try it yourself.
After that, we will trek along the village and get in touch with the local people. Here, you can experience how to pass a “Monkey bridge”, which is built by only one bamboo. Leaving the village, we will visit the My Khánh Tourist Village and have lunch there.
